Quoting is the first step to a successfully completed job. To enable this part of the process to be accurate for the situation here are some things to consider:
Benchtops
•Job location (distance will obviously play a part in the cost for jobs not being collected from our workshop).
•Access to the job (is access going to difficult for installation, are there working lifts, stairs, awkward walls, etc?).
•A plan view sketch with dimensions (doesn’t have to be exact to the mm, this is for quoting purposes only. We usually template before fabrication anyway unless the bench is an island).
•Grade of stainless (304 a.k.a. kitchen grade, or 316 a.k.a. marine grade. Not all textures are available in 316).
•Texture of stainless (there are 4 to choose from. Most common are Satin or Rimex 5WL.)
•Type of edges (again there are choices. Most common are square or bullnose. Least expensive is square edge).
•Type of sink (if required), and is it to be welded in? (Standard is yes).
•Benchtop thickness (usually 40mm, but this can be whatever you need).
Possible extras
•Are there to be any splashbacks? (if so are there any powerpoint cutouts?)
•Is there to be a cutout for a cooktop to drop into?
•Are there any returns in to window reveals?
•Is there to be either a seperate servery or a pass-through servery?
•Is there an appliance cupboard?
Sheeting of doors, drawers, gables, etc

BBQ benches / suites
•Benchtops only or complete suites, we can fabricate either. Click here to view examples in the Gallery.
•What BBQ are you planning to use? (we don’t supply these).
•Keep in mind a stainless BBQ will repell tea staining much better if its rinsed with fresh water (i.e. hosed off) once a week or so to shift any salt, chlorine or other foreign chemicals. This means a cabinet underneath the BBQ that can get wet as well (i.e. also stainless) will much easier to maintain. Using 316 (marine grade) stainless is this situation is also highlt recommended.
Balustrades
•Job location
•Access to the job (is access going to difficult for installation, are there working lifts, stairs, awkward walls, etc?).
•A plan view sketch with dimensions (doesn’t have to be exact to the mm, this is for quoting purposes only. We’ll template before fabrication anyway).
•Is the job predominantly on a level plane, or are there steps involved?
•There are options for top rail, posts, infills and fixings.
•Infills can either be vertical or if the fall from the toe of the upper level is less than 4m infills can be horizontal (vertical is always safer for kids).
Splashbacks
•Job location
•A sketch with dimensions (doesn’t have to be exact to the mm, this is for quoting purposes only).
•Texture for splashbacks is generally Satin (a.k.a. brushed or No 4 polish stainless)
•We recommend 304 grade for inside kitchens, 316 grade for outdoor kitchens and BBQ areas.
•Thickness is always 1.2mm
•To comply with regulations (and insurance companies) you need to have a non-flammable backing on your stainless splashback IF YOU HAVE A GAS COOKTOP in front of it. In this case we suggest 6mm fibro sheeting glued to the back of the stainless, with edges that will be seen folded back to the wall and corners welded and polished off. Even if your cooktop is electric you may still want the fibro backing to keep the splashback straight and ripple-free when you have strong lights on in the kitchen.
•We have 2 options for splashbacks:
Option 1 - You measure carefully and send us a drawing, we fabricate to your dimensions, you pick up the splash from our workshop and install (this is obviously the cheaper option).
Option 2 - We come and template the job, we fabricate to our dimensions, then we deliver and install (not as cheap initially, but often cheaper in the longrun).
